Lecture in Progress helps emerging talent understand the industry, find opportunities and grow fulfilling creative careers.

Welcome to Lecture in Progress! We are a creative careers resource encouraging greater transparency, representation, inclusivity and access within the creative working world. We do this through in-depth interviews across our Journal and podcast, sharing openings on our Opportunities Board and hosting workshops and events.

So if you don’t know what’s next, are in need of some extra guidance, or simply want to know more about the industry and the roles that exist, this is the perfect place to start.

Lecture in Progress has been created by the founders of It’s Nice That, Will Hudson and Alex Bec, as part of The Hudson Bec Group, and is made possible with the support of our partners.

What We Do

Our Journal is full of editorial features that offer practical insight into the people, places and projects making the creative world thrive. Read advice on everything from portfolios and job interviews to taxes, and go behind-the-scenes on exciting projects.

In our podcast series, Creative Lives, we get to know inspiring creatives, asking how they got to where they are today and their wisdom for those just starting out. Listen in on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Spotify.

A curation of articles, videos and podcasts from around the web, keeping you up-to-date on the world of creative work.

Published twice a year, our print edition is distributed to universities and outlets across the UK. To request the newspaper at a stockist near you, please email [email protected]

Released twice a year, our Insight Reports take a deep dive into the current state of the creative industry and creative education in the UK.

A directory of UK creative companies to highlight a broad range of workplaces across a range of disciplines and sizes.

A centralised hub for entry-level creative opportunities in the UK, from jobs and internships to access schemes, awards programmes or workshops.

An ever-expanding list of recommended resources, including newsletters, online magazines, podcasts, events and learning platforms.

We regularly visit universities across the UK to run sessions on a range of topics, as well as connecting emerging and established creatives with selected events. To request an event or workshop near you, please email [email protected]
